Was travelling over the weekend and now posting poems on prompts missed over the weekend and beginning of the week.
The prompt Spiral reminded me of the circular staircase of the lighthouse at scenic beach of Kovalam, at God’s own country Kerala, India. Have used Epitaph style of poetry for the poem.
Slowly, she rose above abject rejections,
Negotiated the serpentine stairs of life,
Relentlessly, she climbed a step at a time,
To be a cliffhanger, atop white lighthouse,
Show way to the wayward ships all night,
And be sheen of the sentinel immortalised.
