The Twilight Years

Years ago, when you found love erstwhile

I surrendered to destiny, allowed the flight

Embracing verve than to snivel and brood

Enthused with peace, I too calmly moved

Life’s been since a big roller coaster ride

barriers were countless but I did survive!!

Now, you have swirled back into my life

Like a mad tornado on a rebound flight

Taken me in by anguish, hurt and surprise

sprouting volatility I had always denied

You’ve rippled the tranquil peripheral

I tremble with anticipation laced fear

Cobwebs had formed deep down there

since you had forsaken me , my dear

I have left my sensuality way behind

curtained by such long forlorn years

Friends we may remain, walking alongside

towards the setting sun ,in years of twilight.
